      Building the new Orphanage

Our sheltered children remain with the orphanage throughout many years in order to obtain a quality education. The aim is to provide them with a practical training, which should allow them to become self-sufficient later in life and contribute to the Vietnamese society. This continues to be the primary objective of Sister Chantal.

More realistically, this means that the sheltered workplaces are where our children will be able to receive technical training and a fundamental education, as well. This training prepares our children for possibly many different jobs:

 1) Education Workplaces:

Language : English (tourism) & French (traveling to European families in France)
IT technology: Son Ca II has a large computer center. Students learn how to use and become proficient with: E-mail, Internet, Office Automation, Secretarial training including: Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Front Page, etc.
General: Basic education in general subjects
Tourism: Tourguide training, tourism training, and hotel training school.
 Cultural: Traditional songs and music.

 2) Crafts training:

Handicrafts: Embroidery, leathercraft, making clothes and Vietnamese hats, painting, silk painting, pottery, pearls, costume jewellery and others as necessary.

The seamstress workshop was the very first workplace to be started at Son Ca II.

The new site of Son Ca II is the former cemetery. It has been cleaned up to provide 5000m2 of ground in a quiet area located only 5 minutes walking distance from Son Ca I.
